Tree Spraying for Viburnum Leaf Beetle Infestation
As of mid-May the Viburnum Leaf Beetle became extremely prevalent in our area. This is an insect that originated in Europe and Asia but made its way here in the late 1970’s. Viburnums were usually a very easy plant to take care of and generally free from infestations but no more. Now this leaf beetle makes its way this time of year from Canada and can destroy a tree totally after 2, maximum 3 seasons. You can see much less leaf growth even in the first year. These trees need to be treated and sprayed before you lose them. It’s a beautiful tree that can last for years if treated properly. As I always say, it’s much easier to protect your landscape than it is to replace it. We are experts in tick control and saving trees.
