Bug Infestation
Bug Infestation and common tree diseases pose two of the most serious threats to tree health. Insects can cause considerable damage to trees and shrubs by defoliating the plant and/or sucking out the sap, thereby weakening the plant, retarding it’s growth and sometimes killing it. Insects may also carry pathogens or provide an entryway for fungi, bacteria or viruses. Tree Disease is often more damaging because it can affect the water and nutrient conducting functions of the plant or cause rotting of the roots. Proper diagnosis and treatment of these problems is often difficult and should be left to a qualified arborist.
